Remember as we move so closer to the celebration of Christ’s Nativity, we continue to prepare. John the Baptist gave a shout out about Christ. He did it in the desert, not in a big city. Remember we are to retreat from the world as we prepare. It is when we get away from the world’s lure that we can find ourselves in Christ Jesus. John’s humility is to be used as a role model for us. In humility, we define ourselves in Christ as he did. He didn’t tell those who asked him who he was that he was a great teacher, preacher and baptist. Instead, he said he was the one (as in the prophets) crying in the wilderness, make straight the way of the Lord. He also said he was unworthy to touch the Lord’s sandal leather. It is so very true that we as imperfect humans are unworthy. BUT we who seek Him, know Him and love Him, who are baptized with water and the Holy Spirit are made whole, made Sons and receive faith and redemption, salvation, and are justified by Christ. Behold the Lamb of God, behold Him who taketh away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. O lord I am not worthy that thou shouldst come to me, but speak the word only and I shall be healed! There is great joy in knowing who we are in Him. We will celebrate that in a couple of days. We will be prepared for His Second Coming in Great Glory.
