When visiting with Family this Christmas…

01 Track 1 When you are with family this Christmas, know that there will be Religious and Political differences between members. You are not likely to convince them that your ways are right and better than theirs. So, instead be gracious unto them. Listen, but do not argue with them. Remember the things of this world are not lasting. The Kingdom things are. There will be a time in the future when the president is no longer in control, the same with this congress. BUT there will never be a time both now and forever when Christ is not King! He is Priest, Prophet and King, both now and forever, unto ages of ages. You see that now. Some will never and still others will see your peace and love and see Him. Remember that Charity, as St Augustine defines it, is the love we show others that is motivated by our desire for them to see Him. So chose to preach the Gospel, the Good News, as St Francis said to do, using words when necessary. Your actions and your love will be noted this Christmas far beyond your words of wisdom. This is written to me also for I come from a family that is bitterly divided politically and religiously.  The audio file is from Mars Hill Audio Journal, that we receive monthly.  If you are interested in this, please look in the Special Friends section of this page for the link to Mars Hill.

Thank you for the truly wise and insightful advice! I will keep this and read it often, not just at holidays and not just for family.

Wishing you all a blessed New Year!
